Following the delay in the start to the 2015 tobacco trading season, revenues from the tobacco related businesses are expected to be higher in the second half of the financial year. This is notwithstanding that there is a projected smaller national crop.
The Group has successfully produced its first crop of maize and soya bean, marking the beginning of our broader plans to diversify agricultural operations beyond tobacco. Plans are underway to add other cereals and related value-add activities to the expanded agro operations.
In logistics, our recent efforts to acquire new business in ports, general cargo and tobacco should contribute to a stronger second half.
